I took this shot way back in April 2008, while strolling the streets of Santigo de Queretaro, Central Mexico.
It is obvious why I took the shot: an instant story told.
The first image shows the converted RAW file, not much adjusting was needed. But the overall feel of the scene is to colourful and doesn't convey the dark desperate mood too well. I decided to create a black and white version and take it from there. I use NIK SilverEfex Pro to convert the RGB file to a monochrome, emphasizing on contrast detail. The outcome was much better. Still, not harsch and desperate enough for my taste, thinking that further processing is needed.
Next, I used NIK Analog Efex Pro to add texture, blemishes and bokeh giving me what I wanted.
